Description:
This attractive medium sized tree makes a great street or yard tree with upright branching and dark green leaves turning brilliant yellow in fall.

Mature Spread:
30 feet

Leaves:
Dark green about 5’’ long and 4’’across. Leaves turn a nice yellow shade in fall.

Flowers:
Small yellowish-green flowers in April/May.

Cultural Notes:
Grows well in well-drained soils in full sun to part shade, however thrives in full sun. Generally, a very adaptable urban tree.

Potential Problems:
No serious insect or disease problems, however susceptible to verticillium wilt and insects like aphids and borers.

  • 20 feet from house or building
  • 3 ½ feet back from the face of the curb
  • 5 feet from underground utility lines
  • 10 feet from power poles
  • 7 ½ feet from driveways (10 feet recommended)
  • 20 feet from street lights and other existing trees
