Project Overview
In summer 2018, crews completed improvements for the Arbor Heights Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Project, making it safer and easier for kids, families, and neighbors to walk and bike to Arbor Heights Elementary and Westside School along 35th Ave SW, from SW 100th St to SW 106th St.
This project was part of Seattle's Vision Zero program to end traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030.
The project included the following improvements:

- A new parking strip along the west side of 35th Ave SW
- Curb bulbs to shorten the crossing distance for people walking
- ADA-compliant curb ramps for better accessibility
- A new stormwater and detention system between SW 104th and SW 106th streets
Schedule
Crews began contruction in April 2018 and completed work in October 2018.
