Safe Routes to School: 21st Ave

Updated: April 17, 2021

Construction of the 21st Ave Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Project is complete!

Project Overview

Safe Routes to School is a national movement to make it easier and safer for students to walk and bike to school. We're making several improvements across Seattle to calm traffic, increase visibility, and reduce the crossing distance at intersections. This project extended sidewalk corners, upgraded curb ramps, painted new crosswalks, added in-street pedestrian signage, repainted and restriped roadway, added bicycle safety improvements, and drainage improvements. Through this project, we have worked to make these intersections safer and more confortable for everyone.
