Crossing Improvements
Project Overview
The Taylor Ave N and Galer St intersection provides an important connection for pedestrians accessing the staircase also known as the Galer Street Hillclimb. The Hillclimb provides an important east-west connection between South Lake Union and the businesses on top of Queen Anne Hill. We'll install new painted curb bulbs with tuff posts at the existing marked crosswalk and adding a new streetlight on the west side of the street and along the stairway to improve visibility and enhance overall safety.

We anticipate construction as soon as winter/spring 2023 pending Seattle City Light coordination.

Crossing Improvements
Project Overview
The 5th Ave W and W Mercer St is a key crossing for many residents to access nearby businesses, residences, and Kinnear Park. We'll add a new pair of rectangular rapid flashing beacons on the east leg will enhance the existing marked crosswalk with refuge island and enhances safety for all users.
