Late Night Paid Parking Hours Project

Payment until 10 PM, no time limit after 5 PM

In 2018, SDOT extended paid parking hours from 8 PM to 10 PM in the Pike-Pine and Broadway business districts, with no time limit after 5 PM.

Background

• The Seattle Municipal Code says parking rates and hours of operation should be set and adjusted so about 1-2 spaces are available on each block throughout the paid parking day. SDOT collects parking data and adjusts rates annually in all paid parking areas.
• This project was included in the 2017 Budget adopted by the City Council last November.
• 2017-2018 SDOT data showed parking in Capitol Hill was full after 7 PM until 10 PM, that finding an available parking space as difficult
