Current Project
Ballard Commons Park Play Area Project
The Ballard Alliance worked with the Ballard community to envision a new play area project within the existing park. The project includes the addition of a nautical themed play area, with new play equipment, safety surfacing, seat walls, and corresponding utility updates. This project will help revitalize this urban park with enhanced enjoyment for all. Construction funding was allocated for this project in 2022 and Seattle Parks and Recreation is working with the design consultant, MIG, to finalize the construction drawings and permitting requirements.
Budget
$1,000,000 has been allocated for this project from the REET I Capital Fund. This allocation will cover the design, permitting, project management, and construction. The current construction estimate is $650,000.
Schedule
Planning, Design, and Permitting: October 2018 - February 2023
Construction: July - December 2023
