Spruce Street Mini Park Play Area Renovation

Updated: January 3, 2023

January 2022

Seattle Parks and Recreation awarded the construction contract for Spruce Street Mini Park Play Area Renovation to A-1 Landscaping & Construction, Inc. We anticipate they will start working at the park on January 17, 2023. Due to additional work to replace the aging loop trail in the lower lawn area, the entire park will be fully closed during construction. People are encouraged to use Pratt Park (201 20th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144) during the park closure. Anticipated reopening in early summer 2023.

Based on the survey #3 result from March 2021, we have developed a design that encompasses desirable play components and layout in both options A and B with bright playful colors. Please view the Spruce Street Mini Park Play Area Design Rendering and 100% Plan document here.

The Office of Arts and Culture and the artists commissioned for the mural art on the stairs area and the large wall have nearly finished. Park celebration will occur in summer 2023 when the renovation work is complete.
