2020 - Projects On Hold

Seattle Parks and Recreation and the City of Seattle are experiencing significant losses in revenue as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. These projects are on hold pending budget review. More information to come and will be posted on this website.

Thank you to everyone who attended the open house to learn about two improvement projects at Mt. Baker Park. Seattle Parks and Recreation's staff were at the Mount Baker Beach Bathhouse on March 20, 2019 to discuss building improvements to the Bathhouse and new restrooms at the Mt. Baker Park Play Area. View documents from the Open House below.

Mount Baker Beach Bathhouse Renovation and Accessibility Improvements

This Seattle Park District Fix It First - Major Maintenance project upgrades the existing Mount Baker Beach Bathhouse. The building interior will be retrofitted to meet accessible standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other interior improvements to reduce maintenance. Access from the parking lot to the building will be evaluated and improved if necessary, to meet ADA standards. Other improvements will include interior repair/replace of the sewer system.

During construction the contractor will need to close the Bathhouse and associated construction zone within the park. This may impact the park. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact to the neighborhood.

Location:

Mount Baker Park; 2301 Lake Washington Boulevard, 98144

Budget:

The Seattle Park District Fix It First - Major Maintenance initiative provides $452,665 in funding for this project and $228,800 for repair to sewage system.

During construction the contractor will need to close the construction area within the park. This may impact the play area. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact to the neighborhood.
