Little Brook Park Redevelopment

Updated: November 28, 2023

Fall 2023

Seattle Public Utilities(SPU) will be drilling in the park to complete the soil and groundwater analysis needed for the park design and construction. The drilling will occur within the park on December 11 and 12, 2023 during daytime hours.

Due to the large construction and equipment, the park and a portion of the Healthy Street on 32nd Ave NE will be closed. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.  Please see the site map below.

This project will complete the redevelopment of Little Brook Park beginning with the design developed by community members led by Lake City Collective. This project will begin with the design proposed for the redevelopment and includes an updated play area, picnic tables and seating, a covered gathering area, a creek boardwalk, a community garden, and a restroom.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in our first public meeting on Friday, September 22.

The meeting in partnership with SDOT and community partner Lake City Collective consisted of sharing the new design for the park developed by the community in 2020/21 and the beginning design of the pedestrian plaza that will be built in the permanently closed Healthy Street in front of the park. 60 people showed up on the last sunny day of Summer to hear updates about the park's schematic design and provide input to develop the plaza extension to the park that has been closed to traffic since 2020 when SDOT launched the Stay Healthy Street program. Community members were treated to barbecue and a DJ while they learned about the project, provided input and expressed excitement about the expanded features and opportunities for activation that the proposed design features.

The entire park will be closed during construction.
