Anthony joins Councilmember Hollingsworth’s office with twelve years of experience in advocacy, politics, and communications. His previous experience at the City of Seattle includes four years as a Digital Communications Advisor and Press Secretary in the Mayor’s Office under Mayor Jenny Durkan, and a year in the Seattle City Attorney’s Office as Communications Director. 

A graduate of Ithaca College in 2010, Anthony moved to Seattle that same summer on the back of a Trek bicycle with a volunteer group called Bike and Build. Over 68 days, he rode from Providence, RI to Seattle, stopping along the way to build houses with Habitat for Humanity. After his trip landed in Seattle, he landed his first job out of college with Working Washington, a worker-advocacy organization that helped pass the $15 minimum wage legislation in Seattle. In the Mayor’s Office, he worked on several major legislative projects, including the Seattle Promise, which guarantees two years of community college for all Seattle Public School graduates. He is passionate about civic engagement, leveraging technology for public good, ensuring that Seattle’s public assets are serving all residents equally, and public utilities (yes, really).  

In his spare time, Anthony enjoys reading, playing games, and going on walks with his husband and their dog, Tofu. He is constantly getting reprimanded for clearing leaves out of storm drains. 

Email Alex

Alex joins the District 3 office as the District Director and Scheduler. She looks forward to helping constituents feel supported and heard. Alex brings her experience as a membership coordinator at a civic engagement non-profit and a fundraising consultant at an animal welfare organization and into this role. 
 
Alex was born and raised in Southern California where she attended the University of Southern California to study Non-governmental Organizations and Social Change and economics. While at USC, Alex also traveled to Madrid, Spain to study Spanish, which she is proficient in. During her time at USC, Alex began to explore racial injustice in the criminal legal system, which ultimately led her to move to Seattle to attend the University of Washington to earn her Master of Public Administration. Alex focused on social policy analysis to address alternatives to incarceration and re-entry programs in the criminal legal system. She also conducted a graduate consultancy report on means to fund Digital Equity work for the Seattle Information Technology Department. 
 
When not at the office, Alex loves staying active through hiking, yoga, and beach volleyball. She is an avid playlist-maker, a casual guitar-player, and loves a good scientific docu-series.

Email Nina

A proud Seattle native, Husky Alum, and District 7 constituent, Nina Park served as the Policy Director to former Councilmember Tanya Woo as well as clerk to the Sustainability, Seattle City Light, Arts & Culture committee. She has also served in leadership positions throughout the City of Seattle in departments such as Transportation, City Light, and in two mayoral administrations.

Nina received her B.A. from University of Washington, and her EMPA at Evan’s School of Public Policy & Governance (Cohort ’18). Prior to working in local government, Nina was a bartender for many years and bartended in Italy and Amsterdam to fund her travels in Europe. Her exposure and experiences with vastly different groups, mixed with her own lived experiences as a daughter of immigrants and small business owners, fuels her passion to make local government accessible to everyone.

Nina is an Institute of a Democratic Future alum (class of 2019), and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Korean American Coalition.
