Seattle City Attorney's Office
The Seattle City Attorney's Office -- known by City Charter as the Law Department -- is comprised of three sections: the Civil Division, the Criminal Division, and the Administration Division. Each division is under the authority of Seattle City Attorney Ann Davison. City Attorney Davison provides legal counsel and representation to the City of Seattle, including the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. City Attorney Davison is the lead prosecuting attorney for Seattle, overseeing the prosecution of misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor offenses in the City.

We believe working transparently, innovatively, and in collaboration with our partners in the community is necessary to achieve outcomes that promote equity, accountability, and healing.
